Frequently Asked Questions

Do exterior changes to my property, such as the installation of a fence or outbuilding, require approval from the HOA Board?

Yes. Approval from Foxcroft’s Property Improvements Committee is required prior to undertaking any changes or additional construction affecting the exterior of the home.

The PIC’s interest in reviewing site and building designs is to ensure that a high quality of compatible development is consistently achieved. In addition, the PIC is charged with the responsibility of exercising judgment as opposed to simply enforcing rules.  In all cases, the PIC will do its best to balance the long term interests of the overall community with the specific objectives of the individual homeowner.

When is trash picked up?

Foxcroft contracts with Waste Management for trash, recycling and yard waste service. Trash service is the largest portion of the annual dues that you pay.

Every household has two bins, one with a black lid (trash) and a larger one with a yellow lid (recycling).

Pickups are on Wednesdays . Waste Management holidays are New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Christmas. If those dates land on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, service is typically delayed by one day. At these times, you may notice neighbors hedging their bets by placing their trash out, as usual, on Wednesday mornings, with the understanding it may not be picked up until Thursday.

Trash: picked up weekly.

Recycling: picked up every other week.

Yard waste: limit is 10 paper lawn bags per week. Yard waste is picked up every Wednesday in March-December. Yard waste in January and February is upon request by your household. Schedule pickup during those months at least 24 hours in advance of a Wednesday at wm.com or call 800-964-8988.

Bulky Item Pickup: is handled through the city of Kansas City, Missouri. Click here to schedule pickups.

You can find a list of acceptable trash and recycling items at wm.com under “Residential Trash, Garbage and Recycling Pickup FAQs”.

Please contact Waste Management directly via kccustomerservice@wm.com or (913) 631-3300 with specific questions regarding trash service.

Can I volunteer to serve on the HOA Board or a Foxcroft Committee?

Yes. Responsible, service-minded residents are the backbone of our homeowners association. Nominations are typically accepted during the Association’s Annual Meeting in January, however, interested residents are encouraged to contact the Board at foxcroftkc@gmail.com at any time during the year to express their interest in advance and to have an opportunity to ask questions.

Does Foxcroft have a social network?

Yes. The Foxcroft Board encourages residents to utilize Nextdoor.com which, in addition to serving as an effective communications hub for residents, also serves as our online directory.  Nextdoor makes it safe to share online the kinds of things you share with your neighbors in person.

  • Every neighbor must verify their address in the neighborhood.

  • Every neighbor must use their real name.

  • Nextdoor is securely encrypted using the HTTPS Internet protocol.

  • Personal information shared on Nextdoor will never show up in Google or other search engines.
